Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Mindfulness Group for Women
Kayira and Bridgid McGowan
has touched most of our lives in one way or another. In some cases, trauma can
overwhelm our capacity to cope despite our best efforts.
In this 4 week therapeutic group, we will explore
the use of mindfulness and yoga based practices to alleviate the impacts of
trauma. The format of the sessions will
include facilitated group discussions on weekly topics, a led yoga class and
guided mindfulness meditation.
Participants will receive weekly handouts and
access to guided meditations to support their practice. Please note the studio is not wheelchair accessible.
Over the course of 4 weeks, we

create present moment awareness

post-traumatic stress responses
- Strategies to alleviate anxiety and depression
- Self-care and self-compassion as a pathway to
As this is a therapeutic group, we will be contacting
each interested participant by phone to talk about whether this might be a
helpful group for you.
